a tote bag for a friend

This year, I discovered one of my closest friends is moving away to attend boarding school in Devon. It has all been quite sudden and she will of course be greatly missed.

So I was racking my brains trying to think of something special to give her as a ‘going away’ present, and decided that a handmade tote bag would be nice, and very useful. And if I do say so myself, I really love it! If it was anyone else, I might have had a harder time parting with it…

(I think I will have to make myself one too, maybe with this fabric.)

I am going to send the little parcel to her at school as well so it will be even more of a surprise, and a comfort in an unfamiliar environment. Hope she likes it!

I seem to be feeling very generous recently – two non-selfish sewing projects in one week! ;)

  4. Hi Sophia,

That’s very cute and neat gift! I also like the color combination. Light blue x Orange.
The glasses fabric is very unique and I am sure it will look pretty with your outfit.

  5. I agree with the above comments its a great bag and the label is a lovely finishing touch that has about the same amount of impact as the bag :) Lovely project in general!
