It’s been, it’s gone! The fashion show was done and dusted last night, and I can hardly believe that it is all over now.
Although all first year pieces (that’s mine) were shown together in one stream and not individually like the second year’s work, it didn’t make that moment any less special. The students were the models and we generally wore our own creations,which was so much fun. Stepping out and hearing the audience’s reaction was magical and makes me realise why I picked this fashion course over an academic one.
I have a couple of backstage shots to show you, just snapped using Instagram on the iPhone. (I miss my camera!) Just a couple of days before, this whole area was the construction workshop and filled with bricks, dust and muddy boots. Somehow it was transformed into a somewhat dysfunctional, but incredible, wardrobe in time for the show.
Throughout the show, I had four outfit changes. This last photo shows my last appearance..isn’t that dress just dreamy? The skirt was composed of several pieces of long, dip-dyed silk which floated down the catwalk. It took all my strength to not sneak it into my bag afterwards, but in the end I did hand it back to its talented creator ^-^;

I love the way your knit leotard turned out. The show looks like it was awesome!
Oh all your pieces look so good, so 60s, i love it! and you’re right that dress is so dreamy!
Congratulations! Your creations are amazing – I bet everyone loved them. Sounds like it was a really fun, positive, rewarding day.
Your creations manage to look irresistibly Courrèges, and yet very fresh. Did you knit the pink herringbone dress too?
I also love the silk dress you wear on the last picture!
Congrats!!! It all looks fantastic, esp love the plastic dress with the leotard!
Awesome!! I was so excited to see them and I totally love your work! How nice to know you and be inspired! You are my star, Sophia! The dress is yes, dreamy, and it’s sophisticated. Also the knitted leopard and the helmet are symbol of your creative mind! おつかれさま!
Thats really cool! Helmet is like from star trek! :)
I absolutely love the helmet that you made! A picture of Pattie Boyd wearing a similar kind of helmet stole my heart and I`d love to have one too -though I have no idea how to get (or made…) one and where to use it. :’ )
